Peter Dentice

December 11, 1942 ~ March 7, 2020 (age 77)

Peter, a long time resident and member of the Italian community has passed away surrounded by his loving family and close friends on March 7, 2020.

Peter was involved in many local charities as well as charities near and dear to his heart, St Jude and the Leukemia Foundation which took the lives of his brother Peter and his father Salvatore.

He was a commercial fisherman for most of his life, fishing in Alaska and in San Francisco.  He enjoyed his life on the sea and the many fishermen he fished with and mended nets with, in the sun listening to his favorite music, “The Blues”.  After retiring he started enjoying his life with his family and friends. He then started driving cars for Toyota as a past time. Peter was a proud member of the Elks Lodge of Monterey and the Bocce team where he connected with many of his friends. He was a great guy. Every Christmas he bought homemade Italian cookies for all his family and all his friends to show his love at this special time.

Peter was pre-deceased by his Mother and Father, Salvatore and Rose Dentice and brother Peter Dentice. After his brother Peter died, as a small child, Peter was named after him. He was also pre-deceased by his loving nephew Brian Dentice.

Peter is survived by his daughter Cesca, who is the love of his life.  Also surviving Peter is his brother Emile Dentice and his Cousins, Peter Dentice, Maria & Gino Montanti, John Dentice, his very close friends Tom and Eva DiMaggio, his coffee buddies every morning and many friends.

I would like to send a special thank you to his sister-in-law and close friend Marie Russell, who stayed with Peter night and day, Janelle Ansberry , Bill Ambrosini and Sean Spowart, Peter’s good friends, who came to visit often and kept his spirits high and comforted Cesca.  A special thanks to his nurses in ICU who took the very best care of him.  Thank you.

Peter will be remembered as a very proud father, generous and good friend to everyone.  He has a great smile and sense of humor, liked by everyone.  I can’t say enough about his many acts of kindness to all; a truly remarkable man.  He will be remembered.  RIP

In Loving memory,

His Family
