Parker Britten Hornbeck

March 18, 1934 ~ November 14, 2018 (age 84)

Parker died peacefilled, his family surrounding him with love from near and far.
Parker was born in Suffern, New York, grew up in Rome, New York and spent most of his adult life in California. He earned engineering degrees from Reneselaer Polytechnic University and the Naval Postgraduate School. He worked in the power industry and was gratified by his efforts.
Parker joined the National Ski Patrol as a sixteen year old and was a lifetime member with a National Appointment; NSP’s highest honor. He taught all four of his children to ski as soon as they could walk; a love shared. He enjoyed tennis for many years before moving “on” to Pickle Ball. He shared his zest for living with volunteer time at Point Lobos and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Parker is survived by his wife, Janel, children Britt, Juli, Jennifer, Jill and grandchildren Jacob, Anouk and Naia. We were blessed by his life and will continue his messages of love.
A service is planned for Saturday, December 8, 2018 at St. Dunstan’s Church, Carmel Valley at 1:00pm in the afternoon.
“Life is short and we do not have too much time to lighten the way of those who travel the way with us so be quick to love, make haste to be kind.”
