John Charles Hollo

August 16, 1932 ~ November 13, 2018 (age 86)

John Charles Hollo moved early to the Monterey Peninsula having been born into a humble Hungarian home in Fords, NJ.  He was proud of his heritage.

A 1952 graduate of Monterey High School, member of the famed Palateers.

Teen summers were spent working in the Salinas carrot fields and shining shoes at the Ft. Ord NCO Club.

He attended the Berkeley School of Art until his number was called for basic training at Ft. Ord, Korean War Veteran.

A forty year career, as a Journeyman, with Sheet Metal Local #104, measure twice and cut once.

Love of steelhead fishing and buck hunting, a poacher at heart.

John was pre-deceased by his daughter Lorri Elizabeth Hollo and wife, Lorraine Hollo.

Survived by sons; Tod Luis Hollo and Ken Charles Hollo, sister Elizabeth Paladino, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his wife, Lisa Hollo.

Fishing story exchange November 30 at Tarpy’s Roadhouse from 4pm to 6pm.
