Ellen Moltini

June 29, 1931 ~ August 7, 2018 (age 87)

Ellen Lee Moltini, 87 of Monterey passed away on August 7, 2018 at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula after a brief illness. Ellen was a lifelong resident of the Monterey Peninsula.

Ellen was a loving wife and mother to her husband of 64 years and their 4 children.

She was a fabulous cook, homemaker, seamstress and on many occasions, the bus driver for her children and the neighborhood kids to their sporting events and surf trips to our local beaches.

When her kids were old enough to care for themselves, Ellen enjoyed a 30 year banking career with the Wells Fargo Bank at it’s Alvarado street location. She starting out as a bank teller and eventually worked her way up into various important positions of responsibility with the bank.

Ellen’s hobbies included sewing, cooking, entertaining guests at her home, annual camping trips with her family to Big Sur and going to Lake Tahoe and Reno to play the machines and winning big at Keno.

Ellen and her husband were members of the Moose Club on the Monterey Peninsula. She served as an officer in the organization. She was an enthusiastic supporter of her children’s

sporting and social clubs which included baseball, football, wrestling, soccer, cheerleading, Boy and Girl scouts and most importantly to her sons was surfing. At any give time, she was more than willing to shuttle everyone off to the beach or local athletic parks around town.

Ellen was best known for her selfless ambition of giving to all. She was a loving caring mother to all who were lucky enough to meet her. She invited everyone in into her home as if they were her own. Nobody that ever came into her home left hungry or thirsty. Nobody was ever refused a hot shower and food after a long day of surfing in our cold waters on the peninsula.

Ellen leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Anthony H. Moltini, sons Anthony J Moltini of Monterey, Stephen Moltini (Maureen) of El Cajon, Phillip Moltini ( Jamee) of Fresno, and a daughter Cheryl Moltini of Monterey, 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

We would also like to thank Jennifer and the nursing staff in Garden East, Dr. Bates and the Palliative Care staff at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
