Robert "Bob" Bruno

March 23, 1941 ~ March 29, 2018 (age 77)

Robert Anthony Bruno, 77, of Monterey, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2018 with his wife Laura Bruno by his side. Bobby was a native resident of Monterey. He was born on March 23, 1941 in Monterey. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Laura, his children Christopher, Sophie and Gregory, along with 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, the niece he and Laura raised and his brother Thomas Bruno and his wife Angie, his sister-in-law Anna Bruno, nephews Frank, Michael and Steve and niece Paula Bruno along with numerous Great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Art and Alice Bruno, his brother Frank "Stoney" Bruno, and his son Anthony Thomas Bruno, all of Monterey.
After four years in the Navy, he came home to work at the Del Monte Sand Plant, from there he opened his first Restaurant the "Cannery" in Monterey, followed by the "Piscean Restaurant" in Carmel, "The Royal" in Boise Idaho, and then back home to Monterey where they had everyones favorite local spot "Franklin St. Bar and Grill".
Bobby loved sports and loved to play golf, he especially loved to watch his kids play sports. After becoming ill, he had his big screen T.V. so he could watch all the sports he wanted. In his earlier years he loved to travel with his family and close friends. He loved to Fish, so trips usually were taken to the best fishing spots he could find. Bobby was also known to play a game of cards or two and his talent at the pool table is still talked about to this day.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:30am, at San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey. The family asks that any flowers please be sent to Bermudez Family Funeral Home in Monterey or to the San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey.
